Indexing and Archiving
Dear Academicians,
This notice is in regard to the Official Notice Issued dated on 12.02.2020 by the Medical Council of India for the regulations to further amend the Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations 1998. One of the criteria states that the Associate Professor with at least 2 research publications, Assistant Professor with one research publication (only original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals included in Medline, Pubmed Central, Citation index, Sciences Citation index, Expanded Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open access journals (DoAJ) will be considered). The author must be amongst first three or should be the Corresponding author. However, it is to be noted that the official guideline also clearly mentions that “Further provided that for the transitory period of 2 years w.e.f. the date of this notification, the appointment/ promotion to the post of Professor can be made by the institution in accordance with the ―Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998‖ as prevailing before issuance of this notification.”
Tropical Journal of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology have always attempted to constantly upgrade the Archiving and Indexing policies on a regular basis and will continue to do so in the future. This is to announce that the Journal have already applied for Indexing and Archiving on various platforms, which are currently at the evaluation stage, as recommended in the updated Guideline.
